
Bill Christensen
Head Coach

Bill Christensen is the
Head Coach for NTN. Bill coaches the National and Senior groups.
The team has placed as high as sixth at Junior Nationals, and has
several National and Olympic Trials qualifiers, as well as Junior
National champions. Previously, Coach Bill was the Head Coach of
the Lobo Aquatic Club. There, he had several Junior National
Championship qualifiers and Top 10 National Swimmers. Bill was the
Head Age Group Coach for the King Aquatic Club in Washington for
eight years priot to Lobo Aquatic Club. Bill graduated with a BS in
Economics and swam for the University of Oregon. Bill is an ASCA
Level 5 Coach.

Abby Turner
Head Age Group Coach

Coach Abby came to us
from Phoenix Swim Club in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the Head Age
Group Coach. During her career, Coach Abby has coached
multiple AZ State Champions, state record holders, and Age Group
Top 16 swimmers. She has worked with athletes from the Novice to
the Olympic level. Coach Turner holds an ASCA Level 3 certification
and is a graduate of Cedarville University, with a Master’s
Degree from The Ohio State University.

Dan Balint
Assistant Coach
Email
Coach Dan swam competitively for nearly seventeen
years in Tulsa, Ok and the University of Arkansas. He was a High
School State Champion, State Record holder in the 200IM &
100Fly as well as attending NCAA Division 1 Championship 3 years in
a row. He has been coaching for several years before coming to
NTN.

Shelley N Ross
Assistant Coach

Coach Shelley has a wide
array of coaching experience, and was with NTN during its inaugural
season in 2002. She is an intricate part of NTN’s program,
and serves in many capacities. She currently assists with the
coordination of our Lessons and Stroke Team Programs and serves as
the lead coach of NTN’s Starfish Group. Coach Shelley is also
a group and private lesson instructor.

Amanda Hogan
Assistant Coach

Coach Amanda was added to the CISD staff in January of 2011 as a
lesson instructor and stroke team coach. In April of 2011, she
joined the NTN staff as the assistant coach to the Bronze II and
Silver II groups. Amanda relocated to Texas from Missouri upon
completion of her B.S. degree in exercise science. She also has a
competitive swimming background; swimming at multiple high level
meets as well as spending two years on DII National Championship
team. Amanda has spent a great deal of time teaching all ages and
skill levels in an aquatic environment and is very excited to
spread her knowledge to the NTN family.

Laura J Dobbs
Assistant Coach
Email
Coach Laura came to us from California
after her family relocated to Texas last year. She was a
competitive swimmer in Northern California at the Junior National
level and brings coaching experience from several teams at the
Novice and Age Group levels.ý She has a Masterýs
Degree in Social Work from CSU Fresno and teaches courses in Child
Development for the San Diego State University Foundation.ý
She has done a wonderful job giving structure to our stroke team
and now also serves as the lead coach for Rising Stars 2. Coach
Dobbs is the mother of National qualifying swimmer, Connor Dobbs,
and formerly volunteered as the president on the board of the
Mission Viejo Nadadores in California.

Ashley Knapp

Coach Ashley is the
Senior Assistant Coach at NTN. She also currently serves as the
Head Coach for Timber Creek High School. Before that, she was an
assistant coach in Keller ISD. Coach Knapp swam and graduated from
the University of Miami. Her age group swimming was in Northern
California for Orinda Aquatics and the Terrapins

Audrey Cormack
Assistant Coach

Coach Audrey is the lead
coach of the White Group and also assists with our Stroke Team. She
was a former coach for GCAT and Irving swimmers, where she gained
valuable experience as a coach and swim instructor. She was a
former swimmer with LAC and Henderson State.

Kevin Murphy
Assistant Coach/High School Coach

Coach Murphy has been coaching professionally, all ages, since
1979. He was an Oklahoma State HS Swimming Champion in the
100 breast in 1974 and went on to swim 3 years at Oklahoma State
University, earning All-Big Eight honors each year. He was a
United State Youth Delegate to the Montreal Olympics in 1976.
He spent 6 years in the United State Naval Reserves, from
1977-1983. He earned a BS in Physical Education from the
University of Tulsa in 1983. He is a member of ASCA, NISCA
and TISCA. He has coached USA Swimming for 32 years, at all
levels, and has been a Head HS Swim Coach for 26 years. Coach
Murphy holds an ASCA Level 5 HS certification.
Since his arrival in Southlake in August of 2005, Coach
Murphy has led the Dragon Men and Women, each, to six District
Championships in a row. The Dragon Boys were State Runners-Up
in 2007 and 2010, winning the State 5A Swim/Dive Championship in
2011. The Dragon Girls were 3rdin 2010 and the
Texas State Swim/Dive Runners-Up in 2011. In addition, 40
different Dragon swimmers have earned 88 NISCA All-American
swimming listings in the last six HS swim seasons. As the
Carroll HS Head Swim Coach, Coach Murphy works closely with the NTN
coaches and is the “competitive swimming ambassador”
for NTN and the Southlake Swimming Community. In the summers,
Coach Murphy is the Head Coach of the 250 member, Timarron
Tigersharks Swim Team, and teaches “learn-to-swim”
lessons in Timarron. His wife, Patti, is a former Oklahoma
University Sooner Cheerleader. He has four daughters, Dru,
Cali, Rachel, and Sarah, along with his son, Sean.
At Southlake
Carroll, “We build good citizens, not just good
swimmers!”

Lynne Gorman
Assistant Coach/Asst. High School Coach
Email
Coach Gorman is currently a substitute NTN coach and the
assistant Carroll Dragon High School Coach. Previously,
Coach Gorman was Head Age Group Coach for Swim Tulsa and
Assistant High School for Union High School in Tulsa. Lynne
is an ASCA Level 3 coach and graduate of Oklahoma State University.
